Hmmm, so here we go again,
A merry go round of a mind at bliss.
The patterns of the dozen years emerge-
The theme- a deep love.
A lot taken for granted,
By the immature soul.
But now retrospection yields
Droplets of gratitude.
The grayscale flashes,
Now reveal me you in your glory.
Which I confess,
I had been demented not to judge,
Clearly - succinctly.
Traces of us,
Exist all throughout the locality.
No part left untraveled-
Yet did we ever trample on our own happiness?
I think not.
I am happy about,
Where we are today.
Nothing left unsaid-
Nothing left undone.
Together- yet not a pair anymore.
We are better friends now,
Than ever before.
Laughter comes uninhibited-
About the chase-
The hits and misses.
The trials and errors.
The bygones and the what if-s.
There can never be any pretence-
All defences shed,
We function at unity,
Of the similar needs and wants.
More free now,
To be 'me' in your company-
My inner demon,
Flashes bright with more sprite.
Ceaseless talks,
Never ending walks-
Or the burning wheels,
Scorching the well-known terrain.
We even chance upon
Our 'spots'-
At ease- with ease.
We share the pros and cons
Of 'us' or what it could have been-
And agree happily,
That maybe it was never meant to be.
I had long ago ended,
What otherwise could have finished us.
Drawn the line thick and fast.
Yet, did we have to 'let'
Each other in?
We followed the natural path to progress,
Beyond borders of social deceit.
And cemented bonds deeper.
Our mutual understanding,
Outgrew acceptance-
Outlived hypocrisy,
To transcend to a surreal realm.
Truth the integral base-
There is no room for remorse.
Wiser and Older now,
We still pride our individual space.
And this shall continue,
Till time unfolds its own story.
My being thus feels lighter now,
Yes- all because of you,
And your maturity-
That never let me feel the pinch of guilt-
Despite the grief I had caused You.
Ex-boyfriend is just a tag-
And I am happy that you found someone new.
A merry go round of a mind at bliss.
