My Good Samaritan
You were always there,
Quite near somewhere-
But never too close.
You maintained the
Spatio-temporal equanamity,
That the discrete distance called for.
And sufficed too
For the silence in between.
Clarity had always been there,
Between you and me-
About what we want,
When and why.
But who we are-
Or who we had let ourselves become,
Were left merrily to mystery.
Neither asked, nor answered.
The present was all
That had mattered.
We sought to race unfazed against,
The winds of time.
As the days passed by us,
As a mild breeze.
Gentle soft-
As a baby's breath,
Filled our days,
As we laughed through the nights.
In a drunken haze-
Or maybe in a joyous stupour,
Floating, drifting along-
On a bed of ignorant bliss,
Aimless in a cloudy daze.
We had never felt the pinch.
As we sailed hrough all.
The Grapes of Wrath-
Sour, yet sweet-
And took it all,
With a pinch of salt.
We never felt the pangs pf reality,
As they should have jabbed us.
Stabbed us awake,
From all our rosy tainted dreams.
Maybe it was too late,
When we did-
At last.
But you'd never let go
Of your hand-
Guiding mine.
I will nevr know really ,
Who you are.
Now it doesn't even matter.
Just the whole fact,
That you were never afar,
When I needed you the most-
Is all that I require.
Let it be,
We say,
And move on.
Yes- we shall let them all be-
As they are-were-will be.
There's no hurry
To fight against the silken webs
Of your words.
I accept that too,
As a part of you,
Let te mismatched reality,
Be overlooked.
And let that be my decision,
As I too,
Need to find my way now,
Without you,
Yet not too far away,
From my Good Samaritan.
The joy of the good moments,
Can never be forgotten.
As I had spent the
Best part of me
With you two.
Somewhere,
Your presence-
Even in your absence-
Will always be treasured.
